AOA House of Delegates

The House of Delegates is part of the American Osteopathic Association's Annual Business Meeting that brings together representatives (delegates) from all stakeholders of the osteopathic profession. These delegates engage in thoughtful discussion to adopt policies that shape the future of osteopathic medicine. The Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association is allotted 3 delegates and 3 alternate delegates, plus 1 student delegate and 1 student alternate delegate, based on the number of osteopathic physicians in our state.
What Does This Mean for You?
To put it simply, MOMA’s representation at the AOA House of Delegates is your voice on the national stage. The delegates we send help ensure that the needs, values, and concerns of Mississippi DOs are heard and reflected in AOA policy decisions.
professional advocacy in action
Our Professional Advocacy Task Force is a powerful engine behind this work. Chaired by Dr. Katherine Pannel, DO and Dr. W. Ashley Hood, DO, this task force plays an essential role in identifying priority issues, preparing our delegates, and championing policies that support osteopathic practice in Mississippi and beyond.
