Black History Month Spotlight
In honor of Black History Month, MOMA is proud to spotlight Reginald W. Stewart, DO as our first African-American President. Another notable thing about Dr. Stewart, as many of our members remember fondly, he was also the first MOMA president with dreadlocks! 😊 Dr. Stewart is an Internal Medicine physician in Pascagoula, MS. He completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980, followed by a rotating internship year and Internal Medicine residency in Detroit, MI. Dr. Stewart is board certified by the AOBIM, and is active in memberships with MOMA, the AOA, and ACOI. He has held many faculty appointments in his career, including Clinical Professor at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Stewart served as President of MOMA from 2007-2009, and remains an active and integral member of our association today.
